Senior AV Engineer
Location: UK-wide (with travel required)
Employment Type: Full-timeAbout the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AV Engineer to support and mentor our team of installation and service engineers. This role plays a key part in maintaining high engineering standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical quality—on time and within budget.
You’ll work closely with Engineering Management and Project Managers to lead installations, oversee integration, and guide the team through all stages from 1st fix to commissioning. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will also act as a mentor and subject matter expert, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support installation teams from 1st fix through to commissioning.
Oversee offsite prefabrication and on-site installation of AV systems.
Ensure compliance with engineering best practices, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide advanced support.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Maintain strong customer service and strive for “right first time” engineering.
Keep up to date with emerging AV technologies and recommend improvements.
Act as a subject matter expert in one or more core AV technologies.
Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in the Audio Visual industry, with expertise in systems design, integration, and engineering leadership.
Proven track record managing installation teams and delivering complex AV projects.
Strong technical knowledge of:
Video distribution, Networking, Control Systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.), Audio Processing, Projection, and Display systems.
Excellent team management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
Willingness to travel UK-wide, including occasional overnight stays and weekend work (max. 6 weekends per year).
Desirable Qualifications:
Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, AV Technology, or related field.
Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I.
Experience with AutoCAD or other AV design tools.
