Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join the engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings in AutoCAD, Fusion, Solidworks, or similar programs. You’ll convert sketches and specifications into accurate layouts with the necessary details for structural stamping and fabrication.

Collaboration with A/V System Drafters is a key part of this role, integrating mechanical drawings into drawing sets (plan views, elevation views, and details), while also implementing redlines and supporting CAD-related tasks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Convert sketches and specifications into 2D & 3D mechanical details for rigging and fabrication.

  • Produce layouts to correct scale, indicating dimensions, fastening methods, materials, and other structural requirements.

  • Collaborate with A/V System Drafters to incorporate mechanical drawings into complete drawing packages.

  • Implement redlines and update drawing sets as required.

  • Participate in rigging design meetings.

  • Create data links or tables as needed.

  • Perform additional CAD-related tasks to support the team.


Skills & Qualifications

  • Required: Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Preferred: Experience with Revit and/or 3D applications (Fusion, Solidworks, SketchUp, Navisworks, Revizto).

  • Understanding of architectural & structural drawing packages, with AV industry drafting knowledge a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Punctual, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.

  • Strong collaboration and team-working skills.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Audiovisual, or related field (preferred).

  • Prior experience in A/V systems, mechanical, structural, or construction drafting is desirable.


Additional Information

  • Travel requirement: 5–10%.

  • Must be able to work independently, maintain accuracy, and contribute to a team environment.
